Colombia and the single American man - Part oneI will begin by describing my first trip to Colombia in 1990 and what I discovered. Its a whole different and exciting world out there. Soon after this first trip I started a business in Colombia with offices in Florida so I will detail some of the problems I faced with this start-up business. Next I will take you on an automobile trip around Colombia and I will attempt to describe the beauty of this country by using photos I took along the way. Lastly I will describe with pictures the ups and downs of a 10 year marriage with my Colombian wife and why I decided to leave the US and move to Colombia. Part two will follow asap and should be exciting reading. I will talk about the adjustments I have had to make in order to live happily here and will point out the big differences in the daily living habits here compared to the US. Ever wonder what its like to live in a country when you cannot speak their language ?? thats me. I guess the most important topic for most is the economics of the move and I will go into great detail comparing living expenses in Colombia vs the US. We will look at medical costs and explain why so many people from around the world come to Colombia for dental needs, plastic surgery and laser eye surgery. I will show you with photos my personal experience here with plastic surgery and lastly but certainly not least I will try to explain why all the American men who are living here and walking around 24/7 with big smiles on their faces. |
